Default PHP Version Changed to PHP 7.2
We sent all our users an email on December 08, 2019, informing you that we will be changing the server's Default PHP Version to 7.2. We have completed this change as planned. This might impact your website.
01. Change of Default PHP Version
We have changed the Default PHP Version to PHP 7.2 on December 19, 2019.
The current Default PHP Version is PHP 7.2.
The old Default PHP Version was PHP 5.6.
All websites that were using PHP 5.6 are now set to use PHP 7.2.
02. How Does This Impact You
If your website was using PHP 5.6 and is not compatible with PHP 7.2, it will display an error.
Please check your website and, if needed, follow the instructions below to change the PHP Version for your website.
03. How to Change PHP Version for Your Website
You can change the PHP Version for your Website from cPanel > Select PHP Version.
04. Multiple PHP Versions
The server supports PHP 5.2 to PHP 7.4. The older versions are patched and hardened by CloudLinux. We will continue to support these versions.
05. Why This Change Is Necessary
PHP 5.6 reached End of Life on December 31, 2018. We kept this version as the Default PHP Version because many popular PHP scripts and apps were on this version of PHP. Now, most of the apps support recent versions of PHP. To keep the server up to date and deliver superior PHP performance out of the box, we are changing the Default PHP Version.
Note that PHP 5.6 is still supported on the server. If your website needs an older version of PHP, please follow the instructions above to change the PHP Version for your website.
