Gravity Fix Announces New Backup System: JetBackup
As a part of our continuous effort in providing the best services, we are introducing JetBackup in all 4 locations.
JetBackup is much more user-friendly, you are able to download individual backups whether as a full cPanel backup, selected files or databases, DNS zone files, Cron Job and SSL Certificates. So in terms of functionality, JetBackup actually offers more than R1Soft and we would consider this an upgrade in terms of user-friendliness.
We have been using R1Soft CDP as our primary backup tool for daily backups and disaster recovery. While it has many benefits over cPanel's native backup system, the software is not without its problems. After Idera acquired R1Soft in 2014, the software received a lack of updates and while this wasn't much of an issue initially, over the past years the number of issues related to the software increased. Due to these pressing issues, we have chosen to replace R1Soft with JetBackup.
There will be no change to how backups are being performed. Your backups are still being backed up on a daily basis, encrypted and then stored onto our remote backup servers for 30 days. This means that you still have a total of 30 different backup points available.
